We are working with exciting a fast-paced biotech that are looking for a Bioinformatician to join them at their office in Cambridge with some remote working possible.

The company has generated a vast resource of sequence data from individuals who show particular resilience to disease. The Bioinformatician will help to create new ways to store, access and visualise these data. As the company grows, you will support the tech team to integrate and ingest new forms of complex biological data.

This role will have a wide range of responsibilities including:
* Becoming an expert in our data management systems (including AirTable, and custom databases)
* Facilitating data entry through your scripting abilities
* Applying data processing and analysis pipelines we have developed to new datasets, as well as helping in the development of new pipelines
* Creating and developing data models for the storage of complex biological data types
* Ensuring the best data management practices are upheld across the organisation
* Working collaboratively with the team and with external partners
* Presenting your ideas and novel work to employees from a wide range of technical backgrounds
* Keeping current on new cloud computing techniques, methodologies and approaches

Requirements
Essential
* A Bachelor's degree in a Scientific discipline or related field with some biotech industry experience
* Proficiency with Python
* Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar
* A team player who proactively and directly communicates and collaborates with other team members
Desirable
* Masters or PhD in Bioinformatics or related field
* Proficiency with R
* Experience in the drug discovery industry
* Experience with using and adapting LIMS software
* Experience with noSQL approaches to data
* Experience of building and deploying web applications in AWS
