The Finance team is essential to the company's strong financial performance and governance, managing relationships with suppliers, investors, shareholders, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities. To strengthen the accounting team, we are looking for an Accountant Officer. In this role, you will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting and accounting processes.

Service Description:

Responsibilities:

Independently manage and perform month-end and year-end closing activities (G/L accounting, payroll accounting, tax accounting, complex accounting) for centrally managed Belgian companies in collaboration with the Accounting Manager (BEGAAP and IFRS in an SAP and international environment).

Lead the accurate and timely monthly calculation and documentation of IFRS adjustments.

Reconcile accounts and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy of figures, including documentation of complex accounting transactions.

Support the ICO reconciliation process.

Prepare monthly/periodic reporting packages (BEGAAP and IFRS) under the supervision of the management team.

Conduct analytical reviews of monthly figures and provide insights to local teams and controllers.

Identify opportunities for process and internal control improvements, leading and/or controlling the implementation of solutions.

Participate in and/or lead digital/IT projects across the group (enhanced collaboration BE/GE).

Collaborate with auditors.

Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies (accounting manual, accounting memo) and procedures.

Prepare, coordinate, and/or review reports for internal and external bodies such as the BNB/NBB and Work Council.

Represent the department in multidisciplinary discussions and report to the Accounting Manager.

Provide transversal support as a backup within the Accounting & Tax team.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.

8-10 years of experience in a similar role.

Practical knowledge of BEGAAP/IFRS.

Experience with SAP accounting software (SAP S/4Hana is a plus).

Proficiency in MS Office, with expert-level Excel skills.

Strong command of Dutch, French, and English.

Excellent analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.

Ability to work autonomously while being an effective team player.
