About the Role

Our client is actively working on expanding the offshore high-voltage grid to connect new Belgian wind farms within the Princess Elisabeth Windfarm Zone. This project is a crucial step toward a sustainable energy future, helping to build a reliable, green infrastructure that supports economic growth and reduces environmental impact.

As a Site Project Engineer - Civil Works, you will play a key role in the construction phase of the Princess Elisabeth Island, focusing on the production of concrete caissons. You will work closely with the construction manager and quality and HSE representatives to ensure the project is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Execution

Support the Construction Manager in overseeing the caisson construction phase.

Plan and coordinate on-site activities with contractors and subcontractors.

Ensure all work is executed in compliance with safety, quality, and design requirements.

Monitor work progress and provide daily updates to construction management.

Participate in site meetings and internal project discussions.

Safety & Compliance

Conduct safety inspections and ensure adherence to project safety guidelines.

Actively coach contractors and subcontractors on safety best practices.

Identify, report, and follow up on any operational, safety, or quality issues.

Quality Control & Documentation

Oversee site inspections and ensure compliance with employer requirements.

Identify and address non-conformances, defects, and design changes.

Review and contribute to technical documents, including Work Instructions and Project Execution Plans.

Prepare reports and proposals for technical and safety improvements.

Contract & Risk Management

Assist in managing contracts related to design, fabrication, and installation.

Support project scheduling and risk management efforts.

Ensure continuous improvement by contributing to the feedback process.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction, preferably with on-site or yard experience in the marine or offshore sector.

Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in multi-disciplinary and complex projects.

Knowledge of concrete structures design and construction.

Structured, independent, and detail-oriented work approach.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Languages: Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus.

Additional Information

Contract Duration: Immediate start - 1 year (extension likely).

Work Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week at the construction site in Vlissingen, Netherlands. Occasional weekend work may be required.

Work Permit Requirements:

Non-EU candidates must hold a valid work permit for Belgium.

Must possess a valid Belgian residence permit.
