Operating within a dynamic, Agile, and open-source-inspired environment, the team continuously challenges itself to improve processes and solutions.
We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join one of our Product Teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our client's corporate Data Organization and enhance the quality of data management solutions provided to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data pipelines, storage structures, and materialized views across various analytical technologies.
Create and manage data exchange endpoints for user interactions.
Engage with governance tools, including Glossary, Modeling, Lineage, and Data Quality.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to refine requirements and present integrated, reusable solutions.
Implement data pipelines using Azure services, such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Stream/Log Analytics, and Azure DevOps.
Develop data enrichments with Python in a Databricks environment.
Contribute to extensive testing and reinforce DevOps principles within the team.
Structure and maintain technical documentation.
Utilize Power BI to create data visualizations and reports.
Promote data coherence and reuse across the enterprise to maximize adoption and efficiency.
Apply an iterative, analytical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
What You Will NOT Be Doing:
Working in an isolated, top-down technical role.
Making unilateral decisions for the business-instead, you will advise based on logical reasoning and data-driven insights.
Delivering technical solutions without considering product-oriented features and customer needs.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Data Engineering role.
Strong expertise in SQL Server.
Proficiency in Azure-based data services (Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Functions, Stream/Log Analytics, DevOps).
Experience implementing data pipelines or data enrichments using Python.
Fluent in English (mandatory); knowledge of German, French, or Dutch is a plus.
Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Neo4j, Apache Arrow, etc.
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, refine requirements, and propose reusable, integrated solutions.
Strong focus on testing, documentation, and DevOps principles.
Ability to challenge stakeholders with rational thinking and a no-nonsense approach.
A customer-oriented, team-player mindset, fostering respect, innovation, and collaboration.
Excellent communication skills and a product-oriented mindset.
Additional Information:
Work Regime: Full-time
Location: Brussels (2 days on-site, 3 days remote after training); occasional travel to Berlin.
