Service Description:
As a Business Analyst within the Customers, Markets, and System Operations (CMS) department, you will be the link between Business and IT, driving technological advancements and supporting ambitious sustainability goals.
Our client is actively transforming the energy landscape to support European climate policies. CMS is committed to building the energy system of the future, where consumers are central. The department ensures safe grid operations by optimizing asset usage, enhancing visibility and system understanding, automating complex processes, and implementing new market designs with advanced pricing mechanisms. This transformation goes hand in hand with a comprehensive digital evolution.
You will work on initiatives within one or more business services of the CMS department:
Customers: Manages customer relationships, contracts, invoicing, metering, reporting, and transparency.
National Control Center (NCC): Ensures energy flow regulation and grid stability in an international context.
Grid Development (GD): Conducts long-term grid planning, cost-benefit analyses, and system security studies.
Markets: Designs energy market mechanisms, develops trading products, organizes ancillary service purchases, and ensures market transparency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Support business teams in designing new products and enhancing existing ones.
Define business expectations, model information flows, and operational processes for IT development.
Develop business data models and contribute to enterprise-wide data governance.
Investigate and document data lineage to ensure consistency.
Establish and enforce data quality standards.
Analyze business needs and define solution requirements.
Collaborate with a Product Owner in an agile/scrum environment, managing the product backlog and prioritization.
Validate functional analysis from IT teams, ensuring alignment with specifications.
Coordinate the implementation of applications across multiple departments, conducting impact assessments and gap analyses.
Prepare and execute test cases to validate sprint implementations.
Assist in software validation testing (UAT) and coordinate integration testing in cross-functional projects.
Requirements:
At least six years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good command of English.
A degree in civil engineering, commercial engineering, or a master's in science (or equivalent).
Strong expertise in business process modeling and business information modeling.
Proficiency in writing and validating functional specifications.
Solid knowledge of agile/scrum methodology.
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adopt a solution-oriented mindset.
Strong project management skills.
Customer-focused, flexible, critical thinker, and a team player.
Preferred: Initial experience in the energy sector.
