Group Server Team Linux System Engineer
Location: Schaerbeek, Belgium (with occasional travel to Berlin, travel expenses covered)
Contract Type: Consultant on Payroll / Contracted Freelancer
Work Schedule: Full-time, long-term contract, including participation in a 24/7 duty role (1 in every 6 weeks)

Service Description
We are currently looking for a Group Server Team Linux System Engineer to support the daily management of our client's Linux Server environment. This includes second-level support and operational tasks that require a proactive, skilled approach to system administration.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations: Manage the Linux Server environment, handle second-level support tasks, and resolve issues escalated from the helpdesk.
Automation and Configuration: Use and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ansible Automation Platform, Redhat Satellite 6.x, and Redhat OpenShift 4.x.
Scripting and Development: Write and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, and Ansible to streamline operational tasks.
Container Technology: Work with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Podman.
CI/CD Systems: Manage Gitlab and other CI/CD tools to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
Virtualization: Work with VMWare vSphere to support virtual environments.
Requirements
Must-Have Experience:
Proven experience in the installation, configuration, and administration of enterprise Linux distributions, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Experience with Redhat Satellite 6.x, Ansible Automation Platform, and Redhat OpenShift 4.x.
Fluent in scripting languages such as Bash and Python, with strong Ansible scripting skills.
Familiarity with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman).
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab.
Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English (at least one native language required).
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Storage Management: Knowledge of Netapp storage management (L1-2).
Additional Linux Environments: Experience with SuSE Linux Enterprise Server or Oracle Linux.
Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Rsyslog, Splunk, Paessler PRTG.
Database Systems: Knowledge of MongoDB, Oracle SQL, Redis Cache, Neo4J.
Security and Networking: Understanding of anti-malware solutions (e.g., Trend Micro Deep Security, ClamAV), networking principles, and security fundamentals.
German Language Skills: Ability to speak and understand German is a plus.
Other Important Skills
Strong team player with excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Capable of troubleshooting technical issues independently.
Willingness to perform operational work and stay in the role long-term.
Ability to work under stress and meet strict deadlines.
Eager to learn new technologies and adapt to new environments.
Capable of documenting processes and writing clear instructions.
Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a car (travel required to multiple locations).
Additional Information
Duty Role: Be prepared to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (one week every six weeks).
Long-term Commitment: We are looking for someone committed to staying in the role for an extended period.
