Our Stafford based, off highway manufacturing client seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to provide a link between the client and the suppliers. We are Looking for someone who has a strong ability to communicate. Confident in dealing with all levels of people and knowing how to communicate with all different groups. This is a twelve-month contract, and you will need to be onsite. Scope for travel to Europe and within UK.

Top criteria are

* Experience with viewing capacity PPAPS and APQP.
* Experience within a machine shop, preferably within a foundry

Responsibility summary

* Working with suppliers to develop a relationship and ensure the suppliers are proactively working to close any gaps in their processes.
* Identify any improvement opportunities in the supplier's process by conducting process audits to ensure that robust process controls are in place to prevent nonconformities.
* Continuously monitoring supplier's manufacturing processes and quality management system for trends and improvements.
* Assist suppliers with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities. The SDE is responsible for the supplier's processes from design concept to the end of product life (cradle to grave)
* Including feasibility studies and project planning.
* NPI New Product Introduction. Review supplier proposal for processing new items.
* Challenge the suppliers process to ensure adequate due diligence.
